Issues

Housing

Prioritizing good homes for Hawaii’s Families so that the Keiki of Tomorrow can flourish in this paradise we call home!

I supports housing projects that afford priority for locals and permanent residents of Hawaii. I support affordable housing initiatives that will put local families in these houses in an expedited timeline.

Education

Having gone through the public school system, I am keen to see improvements in how we educate the keiki of Hawaii. It is critical that we tackle Hawaii’s education with a robust effort of funding and social support.

Being married to a teacher I have seen the hard work our educators have done to uplift and educate our children throughout the years. I will support higher wages for Teachers to ensure that we keep the best of our educators for our children’s growth, instead of losing them to institutions in the mainland.

I am also a big proponent of extra curricular and after school programs. These programs to include; the arts, sports, tutoring, and career preparation will keep our youth engaged and positively motivated for the future!

Public Health and Safety

Isaiah sees our Public Health and Safety Departments as essential to the future of Hawaii. As the West Side has grown, the population has needed more significant support from Police, Fire Fighters, and Emergency Medical Services.

I am pro initiatives such as recruitment and positions supporting the Honolulu Police Department, Honolulu Fire Department, and Honolulu Emergency Services Department. Our men and women who serve our communities deserve our total commitment to ensure they can fulfill their honorable duty!

Kupuna Care

Ensuring the Kupuna of Hawaii are provided for and given the dignity they deserve. As your future State Representative, I am passionate about providing programs and funding to ensure that the generations that raised us can continue to enjoy life within the islands.

As a young man, I was a caregiver for my elderly Father and was proud to have been able to be there for him. To that sentiment, I also support funding and initiatives that support caregivers and the Families of our Kupuna who selflessly take care of them. I believe this aligns with the strong Family beliefs of the Filipino Community and West Oahu!

Traffic Conditions

As a resident of Ewa for over 20 years, Isaiah knows firsthand how difficult Traffic can be for the people who drive to work every day. He would be frustrated with being stuck in Traffic for sometimes 3 to 4 hours to work and back. In response, Isaiah will champion bills and funding that keep the upkeep of our roads and lessen accidents causing extensive Traffic.

Isaiah will push for programs that encourage and support greater use of alternative means of transportation such as The Bus, the Skyline (Rail), and Carpooling. Having been a bus rider to James Campbell High School for his entire High School education, Isaiah clearly remembers the packed 44 bus taking kids to school every day. As a passion project to alleviate this issue, Isaiah will push for more buses for Campbell and Kapolei High School students, who historically contribute to high ridership within District 42.

As our District Representative I promise to advocate for the issues important to all of Ewa and Kapolei!
